Turkish Politics Today in the Erdogan Era

Professor Gizem Zencirci of the PC political science department joins us to analyze Turkish politics today and the rise of President Recep Erdogan and his Justice and Development party. We examine tensions between secularism and Islam in Turkey’s past and present, Erdogan’s conflict with the Gulenist movement and its connection to the 2016 aborted coup, the conflict with the Kurds, and Turkey’s foreign policy.
